Fine Art Friday

"Orange is the happiest color."
-Frank Sinatra

Hello! I think we are in need of a punch of color and orange has the ability to do just that! Today's selections are some of my favorites. Enjoy!

"Orange is red brought nearer to humanity by yellow."
-Wassily Kandinsky

1.) My Darling Clementine original watercolor
2.) Orange poppy original painting aceo
3.) Abstract Flower
4.) Orange-Red Globemallow Flower
5.) Floral abstract 5
6.) Orange Day Lily, Painting on Wood

Orange Facts:

* Orange is a relative of the color red, and sparks more controversy than any other color. There is a strong positive or negative attraction to orange and true orange generally elicits a stronger "love it" or "hate it" response than other colors. Fun and flamboyant orange radiates warmth and energy.

* It is interesting to note that some tones of orange, such as terra cotta, peach, and rust have very broad appeal.

*How the color orange affects us physically
- Stimulates activity
- Stimulates appetite
- Encourages socialization

Mosaic Monday

"Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep."
-Scott Adams

Hello! I hope you had a wonderful weekend - I was sick, but my wonderful husband took charge of the kids ALL day Saturday and I was able to get some much needed rest! I thanked him and his comment was, "I did not know I had it in me!" I feel the same when I see paintings, I just am not artistic in that manner. Today's mosaic is a compilation of some of my favorite abstract pieces and I think it looks lovely - don't you? Enjoy!

MMG Monday!

Hello! I know I have mentioned this before, but I am going to do so again. I belong to this wonderful thread on the Etsy forums called the MMG (more meaningful gifts). They are a wonderful group of people that I am delighted to call my friends!

Today I would like to feature one of these great shops. The shop is new to our thread, but his wife has been with the thread for almost 2 years - so he is no stranger to us! So without further ado, let me introduce you to: Sudz 'N Saltz!

This shop features handmade soaps and bath salts. All orders will come with a mini crocheted face cloth made by his wife who owns Marine's Yarn Works. I have already purchased the Fuller's Earth Clay soap and I loved it!

"Green is the prime color of the world, and that from which its loveliness arises."
-Pedro Calderon de la Barca

Yes, Yes, Yes - more green! I cannot help myself! It is such a wonderful color, so cheery, happy and alive!! There are so many wonderful things that I find in the color green and I just cannot resist! My husband laughs, he thinks it is an addiction! Maybe it, but I do know that I cannot help but smile when I "SEE GREEN!"

How the color green affects us physically:
* Soothes
* Relaxes mentally, as well as physically
* Helps alleviate depression, nervousness, and anxiety
* Offers a sense of renewal, self-control, and harmony

Green: The color of the heart chakra
*This chakra is located at the center of the chest area and is linked to the heart, lungs, circulatory system, cardiac plexus, and the complete chest area.
