Temptation Thursday!

"A man may be a pessimistic determinist before lunch and an optimistic believer in the will's freedom after it."
-Aldous Huxley

Hello! I hope you are having a wonderful week! I certainly am! As I sat down to work on this post I was thinking of several of my favorite foods, so I decided to spotlight them! I hope you enjoy!

"A gourmet who thinks of calories is like a tart who looks at her watch."
- James Beard

Sacher-Torte
The Sacher-Torte has been one of the most famous cakes in the world since the 1800's and the original recipe is a well-kept secret of The Hotel Sacher in Vienna. An original Sacher-Torte is produced according to the hotels secret recipe: The base is a chocolate cake, thinly coated with apricot jam. The chocolate icing spread over the top is amazing. I think the Sacher-Torte tastes great topped with lightly sweetened whipped cream and accompanied by a nice cup of coffee. I order a size III torte every Christmas.

"Vegetables are interesting but lack a sense of purpose when unaccompanied by a good cut of meat."
- Fran Lebowitz

Frenched Lamb Rack

Many people do not like lamb, but I think it is wonderful! Niman Ranch has some of the best meat I have ever had the pleasure to cook. The frenched lamb rack is sweet and tender meat and does not have the strong flavor you find in a leg of lamb. It is very easy to cook and so versatile. I usually order these for New Year's Eve!

"Rice is born in water and must die in wine."

Couscous from Tunisia

I am Italian! My parents were born in Italy and my husband's father was born in Italy (5 miles from my father - but that is another story!). Anyway, we LOVE pasta! However, couscous comes in a VERY close second. You can do so much with it: serve it as a side dish, make a salad out of it and there are even dessert recipes calling for couscous. I get this particular couscous from Zingerman's (I may have mentioned them once or twice before!) and it is as wonderful as they say it is! P.S. It is on sale at the moment too!

Silly Joke of the Day:

What do you get when you cross poison ivy & a 4-leaf clover?
.....A rash of good luck.

Have a great day and remember: Go Ahead & Indulge!
