Memorial Day 2009!
"... there are some who keep up a tradition of pride in service to the United States of America and remember all those who had fallen .... Let none of us ever forget what Memorial Day really is."
-Kathlena Peebles, May 1996
As a military wife I know all to well the sacrifices our American Soldiers make.
In honor of my husband and all the soldiers that make it possible for us to live in the "Land of the Free" I offer my heartfelt thanks and gratitude!
Arlington National Cemetery
In Flanders Fields
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
-John McCrae (1872-1918)
Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
Peace to each manly soul that sleepeth;
Rest to each faithful eye that weepeth...
-Thomas Moore
All my best,

Very fitting tribute, thanks to all that serve , especially those that leave young families behind like your husband. May they all return safely and soon.
My thanks to all as well.
