Tea, tea, everywhere, how many cups do you drink? Part III: Sweets and Savories

Hello!

Love and scandal are the best sweeteners of tea.
~Henry Fielding, "Love in Several Masques"

Part III of tea (sorry, I could not help myself) is here! To commemorate this auspicious occasion I am having a giveaway!

Two (2) packages of scone mix from Sticky Fingers Bakeries!!

To enter please visit Sticky Fingers Bakeries , come back and comment on the scone mix you like best before midnight 3/11/09 PST! Double entries for blog followers! Good Luck!

I will post the winner on 3/12/09 and they will have 72 hours to confirm their entry and send me their contact information!

Sticky fingers scone mixes are my favorite! For years I made scones from scratch, then I paid a visit to Harney & Sons Tea and the nice people there introduced me to sticky fingers. They are easy to make, wonderful to eat and come in many varieties! I usually eat mine plain, but if I am having a large crowd I serve them with clotted cream, lemon curd and real butter.

Tea to the English is really a picnic indoors.
~Alice Walker

Another great addition to your tea time is petit fours! How can you resist such little packages of sweetness? I like to make petit fours, even thought they are time consuming. However, I have found a place that makes wonderful petit fours, and will ship them to your door - no mess involved! Divine Delights makes petit fours for all occasions! Not only are they absolutely beautiful - they taste great!!!

Drink your tea slowly and reverently, as if it is the axis on which the world earth revolves - slowly, evenly, without rushing toward the future.
~Thich Nat Hahn

The last, but certainly not the least, sweet that I cannot get enough of is Zingerman's sour-cream coffee cake! If you are lucky enough to live in Ann Arbor, Michigan and can partake in this lovely sweet daily, I ENVY YOU! I order one every 2 months because my family and I just love them!! When you pick up this sour-cream cake for the first time you will be amazed at how heavy it is. I could not get over the weight - but when you take a bite it is so light and moist you would never believe it was possible. It does contain walnuts, so if you have a nut allergy it is not for you! (try the chocolate one)

If man has no tea in him, he is incapable of understanding truth and beauty.
~Japanese Proverb

Well, good luck! I hope you enjoyed my little primer on tea as much as I did!

-Ciao!

mmmm What a wonderful blog...I have been thoroughly enjoying it. I definitely need to start drinking more tea. I visited Sticky Fingers, and let me tell you it was tough to choose. Everything looked so yummy. But 2 flavors stuck out at me screaming "ooooh I'd be delicious" And those were the Apricot and the Tart Cherry. For me these are 2 flavors that I just adore. I will more than likely be making an order with Sticky Fingers very very soon. Thanks for introducing me to this great company.

These look familiar, I think I have seen them at New Seasons. They sound scrumptios. I would have to say I would choose pumpkin spice and apple cinnamon if I could only choose two.

I love the "love and scandel" quote..HEHEHEHE SO true!
Truthfully, I would rather have a cup of strong hot coffee...but I do try and drink a cup of tea daily...

I agree with Christina...Pumpkin Spice and Apple cinnamon.
